SMART.t SOUTHWT MARITIME AND TRANSPORTATION CENnR The career pathways that SMART has developed allow students to receive college credits toward a certificate or an associate in applied science degree in maritime technologies while they work to earn industry credentials. For example, the center's college partners are able to provide instruction for more than 50 different United States Coast Guard (USCG) certifications. During the 2018-2019 academic year students who were enrolled in courses at SMART partner colleges earned 1,779 USCG certificates in addition to academic credits.
